Barcelona enters the last part of the summer transfer window with a few nerves over the hanging registration of some of their players.
With a return to the 1: 1 Fair Play rule that is now apparently excluded, the Catalans may have to sell players to meet the financial regulations of La Liga.
Oriol Romeu’s contract is close by, while Hector Fort and Inaki Pena are on loan, but more space may be needed in terms of Fair Play Marge.
As such, ESPN Reports that the Barcelona board will remain open for offers for Marc Casado, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Fermin Lopez.
Manager Hansi Flick, however, made it clear that he does not want to leave his team in this phase of the transfer window.
Casado’s Delicate case
The situation of Casado is particularly delicate. The midfielder is no longer a regular starter and a source has informed ESPN that Director Deco is aware that Barcelona still has to generate savings to meet the financial requirements.
Deco would prefer some financial flexibility in the event that reinforcements are needed in January and believes that an offer of approximately € 30 million for the midfielder, who did not stand up against Mallorca, would represent a good deal.
However, Flick is determined to keep Casado in the team. The 21-year-old played in 36 games for the first team last season and played a key role early in the campaign when Frenkie de Jong and Marc Bernal were put aside with injuries.
What about the others?
In the meantime, Fermin, who started the competition opener of last weekend against Mallorca, was also interested this summer. As reported earlier today, clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea were willing to spend great issues, but Flick has spoken a veto for his exit.
As far as Araujo and Christensen are concerned, after the departure from Inigo Martinez to Saudi Aarabia, the defensive options of Barcelona are reduced, making it less likely that the duo can leave this month.
At present, ARAUJO has taken the place of Martinez next to Pau Cubarsi in central defense. In the meantime, Christensen is reluctant to leave, although the club would consider cashing in this year before his contract ends the next summer.
