Badminton Asia U17 & U15 Championships: Tanvi Patri, Bornil Changmai to lead 36-member India team in China | Badminton News – The Times of India

Asian U-15 champion Tanvi Patri and former continental winner Bornil Changmai will be India’s 36-person team for the Badminton Asia U17 & U15 championships in Chengdu, China, planned of 21-26, 2025. This time both players will appear in the U-17 categories, whereby India wants to expand their strong run in recent editions. The team insured a gold and bronze in 2024, and one gold, one silver and one bronze in 2023. Both campaigns were also held in Chengdu. Selections were completed after the Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Tournament 2025 in Panchkula, Haryana, which was closed last week. The team has a mix of proven artists and emerging names. “The consistent success of India in the continental championships over the years reflects the power of our junior development program. This team has several promising players with the potential to bring home medals, which emphasizes the depth and talent within the team,” said Badminton Association of India -General General General. Among the remarkable participants, Sharayu Ranjane will participate in all three U-15 categories, in combination with Soyara Shelar in girls and Hemanth Sri Sammetla in mixed Doubles. In the U-17 division, Punith S and Deepak Raj Aditi will join forces in mixed doubles and at the same time participate in boys ‘and girls’ doubles respectively.
