Babar restarted his T20I career decently and soon surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the leading run-getter in the history of T20I cricket.

However, he started the Tri-Nation series against Zimbabwe with a duck and followed it with a score of 16 against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.

Then, finally, in the second match against The Chevrons, Babar showed some form and hit a good fifty. He ended his innings with a score of 74 off 52 balls, and his innings was littered with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

This feat helped Babar Azam reach 38 half-centuries in T20I cricket, which is the most in the format along with Virat Kohli.

We play good cricket – Salman Agha

Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Salman Agha stated that they have been playing good cricket and want to continue doing so. He said:

“We are going to bat first. I think it is still a good wicket to bat on, so we want to change the trend and challenge ourselves by batting first as we have been chasing a lot. We are playing good cricket. It was a complete game (against SL). We want to do it day in and day out. I just want to do well, it doesn’t matter if it’s my birthday or not.”

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza stated that they are aiming to derail every team in the ongoing series. He said:

“We came into this series wanting to derail every team. We had a good game against Pakistan and the result went our way in the next match. I wanted to bowl first because we were batting first and my toss record is quite bad (smiles). One change because we wanted to give everyone a chance. Wellington Masakadza comes on for Graeme Cremer.”
