Vancouver, British Columbia, October 8, 2025 TheNewswire – Avrupa Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: AVU) is pleased to announce that it has acquired more exploration area in the prolific Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi VMS district of Central Finland through its Finland-based partnership, Akkerman Finland Oy (AFOy). AFOy expanded its holdings in the district with a new exploration area reservation, KKS (VA2025-0043), with a total area of 18.6 km 2 and covering three historical VMS areas: Kurpas, Kaskela and Sirviö. AFOy now holds seven copper-zinc exploration licenses in the district, at various stages of granting by the Finnish government, and one gold exploration license in the Oijärvi Greenstone Belt.

The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) explored the area intermittently from 1970 to 2001. Outokumpu discovered shallow copper-zinc mineralization in 1986 at Kaskela and in 1989 at Kurpas in volcanic massive sulphide layers extending for several hundred meters on the prospects. The best results from limited, shallow drilling yielded the following narrow intercepts:

Follow-up research by Outokumpu Oy and Belvedere Resources Ltd., aimed at possible extensions of the mineralization, did not yield the hoped-for results. Both companies ceased exploration work in the area in 2005, and as a result no further attempts have been made in the past twenty years.

Importantly, as in much of the Vihanti-Pyhäsalmi district, no exploration at all has taken place in the deeper parts (>200 meters) of the future volcanic-sedimentary sequence around KKS, except for the great success at Pyhäsalmi itself. AFOy plans to screen the depth potential with geophysical tools, including deep airborne EM and detailed magnetic measurements.

Paul W. Kuhn, president and CEO of Avrupa Minerals, said: “We have acquired another area of massive sulphide mineralization close to the Pyhäsalmi mine. Our VMS portfolio in the district now includes seven licenses covering potential target areas, including two licenses located immediately adjacent to the Pyhäsalmi mine, less than 2 km from the mainframe.

We are currently contacting numerous companies actively involved in base metals exploration to attract a joint venture partner for the VMS program in the district. As part of this campaign, the management of Avrupa and Akkerman Exploration, the AFOy partners, will attend the upcoming FEM2025 conference in Levi, Finland from the 28th. e through 30 e of October. We welcome questions about the program and are open to meetings about potential partnerships.”
