Authorities have publicly identified six people killed in traffic accidents in San Diego County over the past two weeks.

The most recent fatal crash occurred Saturday about 11:55 p.m., when a vehicle struck Alexander Leroux, 57, in the 3500 block of India Street in Middletown County, the county Medical Examiner’s Office reported. Paramedics took Leroux to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

That crash occurred less than six hours after another fatal pedestrian crash in San Diego, authorities said. Saturday around 6 p.m., a 2011 Jeep Liberty struck 83-year-old Eduardo Sanchez in the 200 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard, leaving him with a brain hemorrhage, a pelvic fracture and other trauma, police and the medical examiner said. Paramedics took the San Ysidro resident to UCSD Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead the following evening.

About 5:30 a.m. last Wednesday, 21-year-old Esteban Rodriguez of Spring Valley was fatally injured in his hometown in eastern San Diego County when the northbound sedan he was driving veered off state Route 125 south of SR-94 and struck a tree, the county agency said. Rodriguez died at the scene of the accident.

Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, Guillermo Pagan, 55, was seriously injured when an SUV struck him eastbound as he was walking on State Route 94, west of Hillside Drive in Jamul, the county agency reported. Pagan died before paramedics could get him to a hospital.

A day earlier, another local traffic fatality occurred, this time in the San Carlos neighborhood. Eleanor Anslow of San Diego was in the roadway in the 7500 block of Mission Gorge Road for an unknown reason when several vehicles struck her about 4:45 a.m. on Nov. 19, the medical examiner said. Anslow, 38, died at the scene of the accident.

Late in the morning of November 18, an eighty-year-old motorist was fatally injured in a collision at an intersection in the Jamacha region. Lucy Prewitt Starkes, 89, was making a left turn from Imperial Avenue westbound onto Viewcrest Drive when her Volkswagen Jetta was struck by an oncoming Ford Excursion shortly after 10:30 a.m., according to the county agency and San Diego police.

Paramedics took the San Diego resident to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of extensive injuries, including brain bleeds, a cervical spine fracture and a fractured eye socket, SDPD Officer Sarah Foster said. Prewitt Starkes was pronounced dead six days later at the Hillcrest area trauma center, the medical examiner reported.
