Austin Reaves didn’t try to sugarcoat things after yet another Lakers loss on Thursday — he’s signed.
The Los Angeles guard was sulking in his locker after the Lakers extended their losing skid to three with a 113-110 loss to the Suns in Phoenix, and when asked how high his frustration level was with his team, he gave a concerning answer.
“Very high,” he said.
Reaves, who has missed extended time on the field this season due to a calf injury, scored just 14 points in 36 minutes in Los Angeles’ latest setback, and it’s clear he believes he and his teammates should do much better this season.
The Lakers are now losers in five of their last seven and currently sit in sixth place in the Western Conference standings with a 34–24 record.
What may be most frustrating for Reaves and the team is that they are as healthy as they have ever been this season.
Outside of Rui Hachimura, who missed the desert ramp due to an illness, JJ Redick had all his roster pieces available.
The road to getting back on track begins Saturday, when the Lakers head to San Francisco to play what will likely be a Steph Curry-less Warriors at Chase Center.
They return to Los Angeles on Sunday for a home game against the Kings.
