Alex de Minaur has continued the form he has shown to help the world of Team Claim Laver Cup Victory in San Francisco last weekend by switching on the second round of the China Open in Beijing.
The third placed Australian only needed 88 minutes to beat the Chinese Yunksbekens Yunchaokete BU 6-4 6-0 in his first outing in Beijing.
The Minaur BU broke in the fifth game on the way to taking the opening set and was even more impressive in the second set when he turned off five aces and converted three of his five breaking point opportunities.
It followed a fantastic show at the team event in San Francisco last week, where the Minaur was the only player to celebrate three competition victories.
He did this against Jakub Mensik and the higher ranked Alexander Zverev in the singles and successfully combined with Alex Michelsen in the Doubles.
Will not stop 😤

The Minaur was also a quarter-final at the recent US Open, where he fell to Felix Auger-Aliases, and traveled to Sydney to represent Australia in the Davis Cup 2ND Round qualification view the next weekend.
“It has been a lot lately and many different beds, a lot of air mowers and yes, I am just very happy with the level that I brought today for a heavy opening match,” he told Tennis Australia in Beijing.
While the Minaur is preparing for Arthur Rinder Knech, a winner of the Straight sets about David Goffin in the second round of Beijing, the World No.8 also set its sights on the qualification for the Elite Eight-Man ATP Finals at the end of the season.
“I knew I had to bring it from the very first point [against Bu] And in the end the goal is to continue to bring the energy.
“The goal is to end the year strongly, because I want to prioritize Turin. A lot of recovery, many hours that do the right thing, has enabled me to make a good performance today.”
Vukic goes to Tokyo Quarterfinals
Aleksandar Vukic has meanwhile continued to the Japanese quarterfinals of the ATP Tour, after an impressive straight sets victory over Daniel Altmaier in Germany on Friday.
The Australian qualifying match and current world No. 95 scored a 6-4 6-2 victory in 84 minutes and will then be confronted with the fourth-placed Norwegian Casper Ruud or Matteo Berrettini in Italy.
Vukic broke on his way to the next round three times and the 29-year-old kept all his nine service games.
The Sydneysider was not confronted with a single breaking point on his ball.
