At the age of 40, Myanmar’s pride called it a career in a Co-Main Event-Showdown with a different ex-one champion, Zebaztian Kadestam.
The opening round saw mistakes landed by both men, the worst of the two sitting Kadestam from a front staircase that wandered low. Aung La found success with his stairs, Kadestam his right hand in a round that could generally be seen as fairly close.
The second round was a completely different story.
Round two opened with a hard kick from Kadestam, but Aung La switched to the Southpaw posture and took the fight to the Swede. Soon Aung La Kadestam had covered against the ropes, which eat different shots, although not clean before he returned the fire. As De Ronde progressed, a rotating elbow would land for Aung La, and various knees, with the soon retired star who refused to leave the barrage. Kadestam eventually dropped to the ground after another attacking flurry, sat down and wrapped his head in his hands, body language that ensured that the referee would wave the match.
The end came at 2:20 of the second round, where N Song said shortly thereafter his last fight was everything he had hoped for “and more.”
“Life is short, and these last 10 years have been great thanks to you,” he told fans who are present in Bangkok, Thailand and watch at home.
While farewell, it was an impressive for Aung La n Sang, who will be reminded for victories in UFC title Challenger Yushin Okami, UFC Vet Brandon Vera, Bigdash, Kadestam and others. His reign as a double camp, which started with one middleweight title in 2017 (he would add the light heavyweight belt a year later) ran until 2020, when he lost the first, then the other belt to the current UFC star De Ridder de Ridder.
Aung La ends his fighting career with a record of 31-15, 1NC, after he had made four defenses of his two titles (three in the middleweight, one in light heavyweight). He also took a $ 50,000 bonus for his last MMA fight. In addition, an officials have announced that Aung La n Sang will participate in the Hall of Fame of the company later this year.
