Alexander Isak … what a saga.

First, what an incredible player.

It wasn’t long to realize that this young boy would not be in a black -white shirt for long.

If we could get three or four seasons from him before moving to Barcelona or Real Madrid, it would be a great result for our long -suffering supporters.

Nobody can claim how extraordinary he has been in his 109 competitions for The Toon. His sixty -two goals and eleven assists is proof of his overall sparkle and the bullet that he shot past Van Dijk and Co in St James’ Park last season will always be a favorite.

However, the story about Alexander Isak has changed completely during this window.

There are many passionate views about what the club should do, how much money we should get, to whom he should go, or that he should rot in the reserves.

Everyone has the right to their opinion and every opinion has merit.

It has been interesting to see this unraveling on the other side of the world in Australia.

We were lucky to visit Newcastle and experience St James’ park in the 2022/23 season. On that occasion our extremely high expectation levels were exceeded and it was not necessarily the game or the atmosphere in St James Park that did it.

It was the people we met before and after the game who was the exception (talking about you Tony, Paul, Toby and Martin in the Strawberry).

We found the people who represent your city are friendly, warm, humorous and loyal. It was our eternal memory and something that we have experienced again.

Undoubtedly, for the first time since the SBR days, Eddie Howe has built a team that really represents his people. The Newcastle United team of the last three seasons has achieved so much on the back of the core fundamentals that the inhabitants of Newcastle seem to crave.

Loyalty, honesty, trust and effort.

This is the absolute DNA of an Eddie Howe team and something that we as supporters are really proud of.

Alexander Isak has now lost the “DNA” that the inhabitants of Newcastle demand.

He has an absolute right to continue to his next chapter in Liverpool, but the fact that he did this at the expense of his manager and teammates is rightly uncomfortable with supporters.

This is because it goes into all the core values that the people of Newcastle are looking for.

Personally, I am not worried if he moves to Liverpool and what money is generated.

As soon as a Newcastle United player, however, loses the core values required by its people, it is best for the player to move in a different direction.

Now it seems like a good time to continue to the next player who buys in what the city means, and the values you need to represent his people every week.
