Arsenal -Manager Mikel Arteta fears Title Rivals Liverpool compiled the strongest team in the Premier League after the takeover of Alexander Isak.
This summer Liverpool broke their transfer record twice to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, in a deal that could rise to £ 116 million, before he spends £ 125 million on Isak on the Deadline Day.
All in all, the champions spent more than £ 400 million on new signing sessions – about £ 200 million more than Arsenal, who themselves recruited eight new players this summer.
Liverpool has an ominous nine points of nine available and signed for the international break with a 1-0 win over Arsenal in Anfield.
And when asked how the arrival of Isak in Anfield could form the title race, said Arteta, whose side last season ended 10 points behind the Arne Slot side, certainly: “They are certainly the strongest.
“They have recruited the two most decisive players who were on the market in Europe (Isak and Wirtz), and they really did well to do that.
“They were very, very strong, and we have to look at ourselves and what we have to do in terms of our skills to be better than they do.”
Printed on how difficult it could be for Arsenal to stop Liverpool this season, Arteta replied: “It is not about Liverpool, but in general and how difficult it will be with the level that it is so consistent and the amount of competitions you need to earn the right to win the title.
“That will be a very long run for all of us.”
Arsenal records on Saturday lunch at Nottingham Forest in the Emirates Stadium, and they will again be without Bukayo Saka after a hamstring injury that he sustained in the 5-0 win over Leeds on August 23.
Arteta, however, granted the fear that important defender William Saliba could be absent for a longer period after he had confirmed the French International – who only played a handful of minutes in the defeat in Liverpool – trained on Friday and contrary to Forest.
