David Raya said he was disappointed not to save the winner of Dominik Szoboszlai during the 1-0 defeat of Arsenal in Liverpool.
Szoboszlai scored a stunning free kick with just seven minutes to go to Liverpool a huge Premier League victory at Arsenal in Anfield.
Raya was struck at a distance by the efforts of the Hungarian, who flew past the goalkeeper of Arsenal.
The 29-year-old admitted that he was frustrated to admit from the reach and admitted that Premier League players are still getting used to the new competition ball of the division. Puma are the new providers of competition balls after Nike’s partnership with the Premier League that ended in the summer.
‘I haven’t seen it [the goal] back. Disappointed not to keep it like any purpose that you admit. I think it’s a great attack, “Raya told Sky Sports.
“I remember that the ball moved a lot and left me. Hopefully the next one I can save.
“It is a very good strike, especially with the new balls and everything. We still have to adjust. It goes away from me, so it’s more difficult to gauge and save.”
About the differences with the new PUMA competition balls, Raya said it is something he still gets used to.
“It’s different from the Nike Ball, so we have to adjust to it. The grip is different, the kick is different. We just have to adjust after playing with the Nike Ball for many years. It’s the same for everyone.
“We wanted to continue to attack them, to keep them still in the first half. We showed a lot of character to keep Liverpool still. You have to get the positive points of it. They are great margins and a magical moment of them.
“In many games we are not defeated from the top six clubs. There are many steps ahead to take and learn in every aspect. There are always things that you have to learn.”
