Arrogates Hercules fathers the first foal in Texas

Lone Star Stallions’ first reported foal Arrogates Hercules is a colt born on February 20 in Texas from breeder Daniel Bates.

Bates bred the colt, the first foal from the Run Away and Hide daughter Ruby Soho. The mare is out of Rock Hard Ten winner Katie’s Ten, who has produced four winners from six foals.

Arrogates Hercules is the only son of the late Arrogate, who won four Grade 1 stakes on his way to becoming North America’s richest racehorse with $17,422,600 in earnings. The young stallion, located at Caines Stallion Station near Wynnewood, Oklahoma, never raced due to a dispute between the partners who owned him.

Arrogates Hercules ultimately sold for $10,000 at the 2024 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale and was retired to stud due to his pedigree.

Arrogates Hercules is out of the multi-placed stakes winner Willet, a daughter of Jump Start who flew from 3 to 8 and compiled a record of 10-9-7 from 31 starts. She won five stakes, including a 9 1/4-length romp in the 2012 Iroquois Stakes at Belmont Park in which she earned an Equibase Speed Figure of 118. She also finished second by a neck in the Go For Wand Handicap (G2), earning an ESF of 115.
