“I’m so excited to be back. This timeout is… It’s time. I don’t want any timeout. I’m angry and I’m coming back with a point to prove. I always have a point to prove, but now there’s more of a point to prove.”
Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping was currently working as a desk analyst, and while bouncing back on what Allen said, Bisping said:
“Given that you say you’re angry too, and I completely understand that, and probably a more accurate word is frustrating. Did he irritate you a little bit? Because yesterday at the press conference you looked like you were ready to just go out and crack him up.”
To Bisping’s comment, Allen responded:
“No, no, no. He’s been nice. He’s actually been very nice. He and his wife come and give me a hug. You know, beautiful people.”
Arnold Allen has the title in his sights with a strong performance at UFC 324
Although Arnold Allen has spent almost 18 months outside the cage, a win over someone like Jean Silva could put him in prime position for a title shot. This was expressed by double A during the media day of fight week and the logic Allen expressed to reporters on the ground made some sense, in terms of proximity.
When Diego Lopes defeated Jean Silva in September 2025 for a title shot, a fellow featherweight fighter connected the dots in that regard, as Allen joked [via MMA Junkie],
“It’s literally just been proven that beating Jean Silva gets you a title fight, right? So I don’t know. The numbers next to your name literally mean nothing.”
