Arne Slot In ‘I’m Noture Sure’ Complaint after Liverpool defeated Newcastle United | Football blog

Arne Slot was not convinced of the quality that can be seen in Liverpool’s late victory over Newcastle United last weekend.

The Reds left it dramatically late to beat the Magpies in St James’ Park, because it was 10 minutes after the stopping time when they yielded their winner.

The side of Slot had taken the lead thanks to the blast of Ryan Gravenberch from a distance before Hugo Ekitike the lead of the Premier League holders doubled just after the restart.

Anthony Gordon’s Newcastle Red Card had arrived just before half -time, but that did not prevent the hosts from brought themselves back into the action thanks to a header by Bruno Guimaeres.

Incredibly they did a level thanks to William Osula with two minutes of normal time to play. But 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha won the day with a last-minute strike in what was a huge moment for the child.

Arne Slot complained about lack of quality in Newcastle VS Liverpool

Manager Slot shone with the three points after his side almost all threw it away, but the Dutchman admitted that the quality was missing in the 100 or so minutes on the field.

The former Feyenoord Gaffer thought that the majority of the game was played with the ball in the air with too many set pieces won and played by both clubs.

And he accepted that, despite the lack of class on the field, the stadium was great to leave the stadium again with the next time.

Slot spoke with Sky Sports in the aftermath of the collision: ‘I am not sure if I saw a football match.

“It was set piece after set piece, long throws. It didn’t have much to do with tactics. But I enjoyed how we were strong.”

He added: “It was a very difficult first half hour, 45 minutes. We did not collapse at all and went up with 1-0.

Why Liverpool is not worried about the fight in the physical Newcastle

“Newcastle who goes to 10 men would expect it to be a big plus for us, but when a keeper takes every free kick, there is not much hope [benefit] If you are one player.

“That’s why it was so difficult to bring the 2-0 over the line.”

The complaint from Slot should not signal too much to worry about the Reds that are probably not too often attached to a lack of quality.

The will of creative game makers they have in Florian Wirtz, Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and now Hugo Ekitike must allow the turf more often than no longer.

In an attacking threat, Liverpool now also has Jeremie Frimpong on the right and Milos Kerkez on the left to offer a quick football brand.
