Apple could announce at least five new products during a three-day event in early March, including a low-cost MacBook, one iPhone 17Enew iPad Air and new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptop models and possibly more, according to a Bloomberg report.
Unlike an Apple ‘Event’ that has become standard for iPhone launches, for example, a ‘Special Experience’ will take place in New York, London and Shanghai on March 4 and could include three days of announcements and hands-on time for invited guests.
Bloomberg’s reporting appears to reinforce previous reporting by Daring Fireball about the company expanding its announcements into a three-day event.
An Apple representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
While there could be more product announcements at these early March meetings, such as previewing upcoming software updates or features, the focus of the report will be on new and upgraded hardware, led by cheaper MacBooks that would come in a variety of colors. Additionally, a cheaper iPhone 17 model, the 17E, is expected this spring, as well as an iPad Air with an M4 processor, an upgraded base iPad, and MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops with upgraded processors.
The Bloomberg report also notes that inventory for some of the existing product lines (e.g. iPad Air, iPhone 16E) is starting to run low, which is likely to happen if upgraded products are on the way.
Apple is expected to move away from one major iPhone event per year by 2026 to multiple product rollouts, at least twice a year.
