Under the arrangement, IIT-Chennai will lead research efforts and develop the core technologies and intellectual property needed to meet complex military requirements. Apollo Micro Systems will assume the role of technology development and manufacturing partner, with responsibility for the transition from laboratory-level innovations to deployable, mission-ready equipment.
The General Directorate of Naval Armaments Inspection will contribute domain expertise, participate in testing and ensure that the systems meet military standards for integration into naval and other defense platforms.

He added that this partnership model ensures that new technologies are mission relevant, rigorously tested and ready for use on naval platforms, significantly reducing dependence on foreign imports and strengthening India’s self-reliance in defense capabilities.
The company added that the IIT-Chennai partnership will also extend to advanced technologies intended for the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, space-related programs and other multi-domain applications. In a separate development, the company has received an export order of Rs 17 crore, it said in a regulatory filing on November 22. The company also said that it has bagged an order from DRDO. Apollo Micro Systems’ share price has delivered multibagger returns this year, up 125% this year.
