Antoine Semenyo identified as the solution to Amorim’s wide-ranging problem – Man United News And Transfer News | The People’s Person

Manchester United’s defeat to Everton proved once again that Ruben Amorim’s width lacks quality.

With Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha unavailable for the match, the head coach selected Amad on the left of the front three, meaning Noussair Mazraoui came in as a right wing-back.

On the left, Patrick Dorgu was given a rare start and it’s safe to say the first half was a disaster. Amorim was forced to shuffle his pack, with Amad sent back to right wing-back while Diogo Dalot replaced Dorgu on the left.

The Ivorian was one of the few players to at least try, while Dalot put in another chaotic performance. With Amad about to leave for AFCON, Amorim needs quality in January.

Antoine Semenyo, the next Amad

The Red Devils are looking at wingbacks and all that Team conversationAntoine Semenyo is seen as the perfect match because of his versatility.

INEOS sees him as an Amad-type player, someone who can influence things at the top while still having the energy and determination to do a diligent job defensively.

“Manchester United are expected to look for a new player of the Amad Diallo type in the January transfer window, sources have told TEAMtalk, as the Red Devils look to strengthen their attacking strength.

“Man Utd’s coaching staff want the flexibility to use Diallo as a number 10 on occasion, increasing the need for extra-wide options and greater tactical versatility.

United cannot delay if they want to win the race

“There is a growing feeling among sources that Man Utd are looking for more players who are able to carry the ball and play on the front foot. Antoine Semenyo is among the players being considered at Man Utd.

“Man Utd value Semenyo’s versatility and believe he could operate in multiple roles – including as a full-back – making him an attractive target as they move forward with plans for a January signing.”

The Ghanaian would be much better served playing up top as one of the attacking midfielders, but he has played as a wing-back in the past and Bournemouth could be forced to sell due to his release clause.

Antoine Semenyo could be signed for £65 million in early January, but with Amorim demanding a midfielder it will be interesting to see what INEOS will ultimately decide.
