Is the US about to add Bitcoin to its reserves? Pompliano thinks so.
With the inflation that weakens the dollar, more companies turn to Bitcoin as a long -term storage of value. Experts say that the US government can be the following.
Here is everything you need to know.
Dollars or Bitcoin: What is the better gamble?
Entrepreneur and investor Anthony Pompliano challenges large companies to reconsider how they deal with their money. In a recent interview with CNBC, he said that companies are losing value by keeping too much money, especially because the US dollar is getting weaker.
The dollar has lost around 30% of purchasing power over the past five years. So he asked a difficult question: if you are a manager, do you prefer dollars for the next 10 years or Bitcoin?
Simply put, he tries to point out that keeping Fiat is risky, while Bitcoin offers long -term protection and upward potential.
Bitcoin remains the best choice
Pompliano believes that Bitcoin is still far ahead of the rest of the cryptomarkt. He said that holding Bitcoin on a balance may seem unconventional, but soon it will be the norm.
He recently launched a company called Procap BTC ($ 118,846.00), which already has nearly 5,000 bitcoins with a value of more than $ 500 million.
At the demand for Ethereum and other rising cryptocurrencies, he made it clear that the most attention from Wall Street is on Bitcoin and not Ethereum, Solana or other Altcoins.
“Bitcoin has settled as the king of the market. I don’t think that will change soon.”
As for Stablecoins, Pompliano said they could grow in use, but not become in price because they are linked to the dollar.
Will the US government buy Bitcoin?
Pompliano has made a daring prediction: the US government will eventually start buying Bitcoin. When asked what Bitcoin could push even higher, he said that this would be the biggest catalyst of all. A formal movement, such as creating a strategic Bitcoin reserve, would be a huge shift. He also believes that more Wall Street companies that have hesitated so far will follow soon.
This prediction may not be far away!
Patrick Witt, a senior civil servant of the White House for Digital Assets, recently confirmed that the US government will officially continue with its strategic Bitcoin reserve. Speaking at the Bitcoin Policy Summit, Witt said that a formal report is on the road and that the administration has already started laying the foundation for a long-term Bitcoin accumulation plan.
American companies still intact, despite rumors
There were recently rumors that the American government had sold 85% of its Bitcoin companies, so that panic was fueled in both crypto and political circles.
However, Blockchain company Arkham Intelligence clarified that the US still owns around 198,000 BTC, worth $ 23.5 billion, spread over different government agencies such as the FBI, DOJ and DEA. It is important that none of the bitcoins has moved in the last four months.
If the US announces its access to Bitcoin, this can mark a historic turning point for the entire cryptomarkt. We will look!
