Yesterday I played my second game in the club championship of Mattawa Golf and Ski Resort. This is the fourth year that I organized this event and led for my home course and I am happy to be able to say that I passed on to the third round. My tough opponent, JC, would not make it easy for me and from our first Tee -shots the game was a back and forth. The best part of our round is that it was just fun. JC is a great golfer and even better play partner. It was the total package of pleasure and excitement.

The weather was perfect. It was cloudy and the temperature was around 18 degrees. The only disadvantage of the circumstances were the bugs … they were fully in force. This was a big annoyance, but because of their constant intimidation we came without real dramas. The course played dry and we experience a little more role than normal. In general, the course was in excellent condition and added to a good time I experience during the competition. We played the ball down with the discussion about the winter rules. By playing the ball, we had to play where as lye and on some shots this was a challenge because of some fragmentary areas. Anyway, it was the best way to play our match, because there was no discussion about relief; We both played the same circumstances. From a realistic point of view, all matches must be played.

The first hole started hard for JC. He actually gave me this gap that I was pretty surprised. JC is a smooth player who doesn’t make many mistakes. Fortunately for me I was able to go on one after one. Well, that light lift in my mind ended when JC even took the second gap to the game. Then we exchanged shots as we both found our Groove.

In the fourth hole we were both for Birdie. JC was about 30 feet distance and I was 25. When JC investigated his putt, I noticed that he had a good feeling for how the long puts rolled. I took the time and made this long putt to put pressure on me to keep track of. While I read my putt, the only thing I thought was not short. It was straight without a break, so I hit my putt firmly and it hit the hole and fell. We both looked at each other, smiled and laughed when we went to the next hole.

While the front nine went on, we tied all the holes, except number 7. I made a short par putt to steal this hole because we were as boxers who were to swap the bumps for the round and I demolished in a lucky shot. We both stayed in the game and in fact tried to put pressure on each other with very little success. After completing the front nine, I was one when we immediately moved to the second round.

I won the tenth hole for an unfortunate bunker game from JC. The course bunkers are in progress and sometimes they can be a bit difficult. JC’s accident was my fortune when I did two row 5 to win the gap. I thought I had an advantage until we reached the fourth hole where JC stepped on the gas to put more pressure on.

I hit my worst shot of the hard pan on the fourth hole. Only 64 meters from the Green after my Tee -shot, I knew that I had to take a challenging line over some trees, because JC put Birdie after a great shot from the center of the fairway to 20 feet of the pin. I focused on my target, set up according to normal and thinnest the ball. My ball had very little height and as a result it hit the top of the trees and I lost it. After my 3 -minute search, I told JC to pick up his ball after I admitted the gap. I was one with five holes to play.

Now the battle started. I hit two great photos on the long par 5 and stayed behind with an easy chip to set up my birdie. JC was a bit further back and left himself a long putt for Birdie as a result. I was able to take advantage of this situation and walked away from the green with a birdie who went up with four to go. Wait, JC did not roll over and let me run away with an easy victory.

The next hole was a short par 3. I pulled my shot to the left flat from the green. JC hit his ball on 15 feet and left a reasonable putt for Birdie. I played a bump and just ran the hole missed but let a tap for par. JC walked up with confidence and left his 15 feet put to my lead to one with three to go.

After two good disks at 16, it was our approach shots that made the difference. I previously played my usual country and jump the ball on the green and JC pulled his shot to the left. He was left with a difficult heavy putt that he fell as much as 12 feet. After both two putted I was two to go with two. I felt pretty good because I just had to tie to hole to win the game.

JC hit a better ride than me, but our second shots left us at about the same distance from the green. JC popped his ball on the green on about 25 feet of the hole and played my best photo of the day and left a two -foot putt for the victory. However, JC would not disappear calmly! He easily fell the 25 foot putt and now my two foot putt looked a little longer. Fortunately I sank my Birdie Putt to close the game. The last thing I wanted was to play the last gap just one.

After a great match with JC, I am not in the semi -final of the club championship. I had a great time during the round of yesterday. JC is a real gentlemen and a fantastic playing companion. We were evenly match and I was lucky to win the day. I look forward to the next round while the club championship event continues. Thank you JC, we have to get up again this year!

I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
