The Delhi police have made another arrest in connection with the recent attack on Minister President Rekha Gupta. The accused, identified as Tahseen Syed, was taken into custody because of his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.
According to officials, Tahseen, a resident of Rajkot, is a good friend of Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya, the most important accused who carried out the attack on the main minister. Studies showed that Tahseen had transferred Rajesh to Rajesh prior to the incident.
The police held Tahseen in Rajkot and then brought him to Delhi, where he was formally arrested. This marks the second arrest in the case.
In addition to Tahseen, the Delhi police also asked five friends of Rajesh as part of the current investigation.
The attack on Minister -President Rekha Gupta took place during her weekly Jan Sunwai (public hearing) in her civil lines residence on Wednesday morning. These public hearings, held because she had recorded the office, have citizens from all over Delhi brought their grievances directly to the Chief Minister.
Sakariya, arrived at the camp office in a rickshaw and gained access to a complainant. He handed a few papers and claimed that he was looking for the release of a captured family member. Moments later he attacked the chief minister, pushed her and then grabbed her by the hair.
