We are proud to announce the official qualification process for sitting volleyball at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Teams from around the world will have the opportunity to secure their places through a series of regional and world championships, culminating in final qualifying tournaments held in the lead-up to the Games.
The most important elements of the LA28 trajectory (valid for both women and men)
- 2026 World Championships: two slots
- 2027 Zone Championships: One slot for each zone (4 total)
- Final qualification 2028: one slot
- Host: The host teams will qualify directly if they rank 1-8 at the 2026 World Championships. If they are ranked 9-16 or do not participate, the slot(s) will be assigned to the 2028 Final Qualifier

“We have reviewed the qualification path for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and the Paris tournament performance and made a number of adjustments to the previous path. Our main objectives were a fair regional distribution and giving the host a preferential opportunity to qualify, while ensuring that the host should be among the eight best teams in the world. We look forward to an exciting battle for the LA28 tickets over the next two years, starting with the World Championships in China, July 10-18, 2026.”
