St. Paul, MN-De Minnesota Frost today announced that the third round design selection Anna Segedi has signed a two-year professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) standard player agreement during the 2026-27 season.
“Anna is an accomplished athlete whose collegial excellence and international experience have set her up for a promising professional career,” said Frost General Manager Melissa Caruso. “With her leadership, all-round game and faceoff proWess, we know that she will be an effective and versatile part of our line-up.”
Selected 22nd General in the PWHL design of 2025, Segedi is a 24-year-old left shot of Commerce Township, Mi, who recorded 119 points (54G, 65a) in 164 career competitions at St. Lawrence University. As captain of Saints in 2024-25, Segedi was named third team All-Ecac for the second consecutive season. She is born the first PWHL player in China and participated in the Chinese National Women’s Team at the 2022 Olympic Games and on two IIHF Ladies World Championships (2022 Division 1B and 2023 Division 1a).
“I am incredibly excited to have drawn and officially start my professional career with the prince,” Segedi said. “It is an honor to become a member of such a great organization, and I can’t wait to play for the great fans in Minnesota.”
Segedi was the third of six players selected by Minnesota on 24 June and was the third player of the Frost’s 2025 Draft Class to be signed, participating in the first round Pick Kendall Cooper and second round Pick Abby Hustler who played with Segedi in St. Lawrence. She joins a Frost Forward group with veterans Kendall Coyne Schofield, Kelly Pannek, Taylor Heise, Grace Zumwinkle and Claire Butorac together with second-year players Britta Curl-Salemme, Katy Knoll and Klárá Hymárová All under contract for the 2025-26.
