Andy Flower has been appointed as head coach for London’s spiritThe men’s side, to replace Justin Longer. The Spirit finished seventh of the eight in the first and only season of longer in the lead.
Flower leaves Trent Rockets after a five -year association with the franchise. For the Unververeded, MCC and the ‘Tech Titans’, who took over a consortium of high network-worthy people, including the Chief Executives of Google, Microsoft, YouTube and Adobe, earlier in the week. They plan to run the franchise as a joint venture.
In the meantime, Flower will reunite with director of Cricket Mo Bobat at the Spirit. In particular, the Duo Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) brought to their first IPL title in 2025. Bobat said that he was excited together with Flower to use each other’s insight to improve the mind.
“I am happy that we have been able to secure Andy’s services as the head coach of our men. Andy and I have enjoyed a strong working relationship in the past and I am looking forward to building something special with him in London Spirit while we are entering this new and exciting phase for the franchise,” Bobat explained, as cited by Espncriceinfo.
Flower also expressed his feelings to get another chance to work with Bobat.
“It is a real privilege to be part of such an iconic location and organization. I am also very happy to work again with Mo, and for the first time with both MCC and the Tech Titans,” Flower noted.
About how the Spirit in the tournament in general occurred, they were champions of the ladies’ hundred in 2024. However, they consistently left in the Herendivisie. The men’s side has only won 12 of their 38 completed competitions. Five of them arrived in 2022 when Ein Morgan led them to the knock -out phase. That was the only time they reached the knockouts.
