Health officials have warned that people live in the southwest to prevent coffee due to ‘dangerously warm conditions’.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a statement this week about severe heat waves in Nevada, California and Arizona, where the temperatures will be expected to reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49 C) in the coming days.

The agency said that because of its caffeine, even iced coffee is a diuretic, which means that it tells the body to produce and pass on more urine. Energy drinks and soft drinks are also a risk.

Increased urination ensures that the body loses liquids and if those liquids cannot be replaced, the body is dried out.

Without enough liquids, blood volume in the body decreases, causing the kidneys, the heart, the brain and other vital organs.

The agency also warned against eating meals with a lot of proteins, because of course they increase the body temperature because the body has to spend more energy to digest them.

The warning is because heat-related deaths in the US have doubled in the last 25 years and the couple are even triple in the next 50 due to gradually increasing temperatures.

Even Alaska has issued its very first heat advice, although the temperatures are expected to hit only 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 C).

About 1,200 Americans die of heat-related causes every year, although civil servants notice that the actual number of 10-fold can be higher due to sub-reporting.

NWS said that parts of Arizona could see 115 degrees temperatures in the coming days, while Death Valley National Park might see 120.

In a post on X, NWS Las Vegas said today and tomorrow it will be the most popular days of the week of the area.

In a list of ‘Don’t’ on an image, it warned: ‘Alcohol and caffeine can accelerate dehydration.’

Diuretic drinks such as these tell the kidneys to release more water and produce more urine, causing the body to get rid of excess fluid.

But at hot temperatures, the body already loses liquid due to sweating, so that diuretics can drain the body of liquids faster than they can be replaced.

In response, blood volume decreases, which means that it cannot flow from vital organs.

This makes sweating, causing the body, less effective and makes the internal temperature of the body.

This leads to a heat stroke, which causes nausea, vomiting, a fast wrist, loss of consciousness and organ failure.

Civil servants also insisted on staying away from protein -rich meals at high temperatures, because proteins need more energy to digest and raise the body temperature (stock image))

The NWS also warned against meals with a lot of proteins. Compared to carbohydrates and fats, proteins take more energy to digest in amino acid, which means that the body burns more calories. This generates warmth.

The body temperature increases as a result, a process that is called thermogenesis -induced thermogenesis (this).

This could explain why eating protein -rich food can ’cause meat sweat’.

Instead, NWS encouraged people in hot areas to ‘drink a lot of water or sports drinks.

Health authorities also propose to skip steak and chicken and instead choose foods with a high water content such as watermelon, berries, melons and cucumbers.
