The League MX promotion of Saturday contained a seven-target thriller from Guadalajara, where Cow Cowell came from the goal for Chivas.
Cowell scored his first goal of the new Apertura campaign when Chivas defeated visiting Atletico San Luis with 4-3. The National Team attacker of the American men registered 54 minutes in the game.
After Juan Sanabria Chivas’s own goal stabbed for 1-0, Cowell doubled the lead of the hosts before halftime. Cowell’s header from close by in the back of the net for a 2-0 Chivas benefit.
Although they see their 2-0 lead slipping away, Chivas used a late brace from replacement attacker Armando Gonzalez to take a 4-3 victory.
Cowell, who scored nine goals for Chivas last season, is outside the goal in the early stages of the new campaign.
Chivas will now focus on his Leagues Cup opener against New York Red Bulls on Friday.
