Celtic’s 2026 fixture gets underway on Saturday, with its biggest rival making the trip to Parkhead.
Auston Trusty and Celtic take on Glasgow rivals Rangers in the third rivalry match of the current season. Trusty played 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Motherwell on Tuesday, a defeat that continued a worrying winter for Wilfried Nancy’s men.
After Cameron Carter-Vickers’ injury, Trusty has jumped back into the mix in Glasgow. The experienced centre-back made fifteen starts for the club in all competitions and quickly became one of the club’s most important players.
If Celtic are to claim their first league win over Rangers since September 2024, Trusty will need to anchor the backline again. However, a defeat could well mean Rangers surpass Celtic in the table, something which would increase the pressure on Nancy and his players in January.
