It was a productive start of the new PSV campaign for Sergino Dest this summer.
Dest scored his second goal in as many games on Saturday as Peter Bosz’s team along Sparta Rotterdam 6-1 rolled into their Eredivisie-Opener. The national team of the American gentlemen immediately earned SBI Americans in the foreign player of the week for his productive performance in Eindhoven.
Dest scored PSV’s third goal of the first half and tore a shot in the roof of the net after a 1-2 with Alassane plea.
Dest would look at three extra goals from his PSV teammates in the second half before they were replaced with eight minutes to play. The 24-year-old continued to look back on his best after scoring the winner in the Dutch Super Cup last weekend vs. Go Avight Eagles.
A confident Dest is a good sign for PSV and the USMNT while the new season is progressing.
Here is a further consideration of the best Americans abroad of the past week:
Josh Sargent
It may have been a loss of effort, but the opening goal of Josh Sargent for Norwich City on Saturday was positive.
Sargent’s defensive urgent urgent goal led to a bent goal in a 2-1 loss for Millwall, giving the American his last contribution to Norwich Colors ahead. Although the visiting lions would take all three points, Sargent again showed why it would be missed desperately on Carrow Road, if he would leave this summer.
Aidan Morris
Aidan Morris earned one of what this season should be many starts for Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Morris helped Rob Edwards’ team claim a 1-0 home victory on Swansea City. The USMNT midfielder pulled three errors, won eight duels and completed 95% of his passes.
After a productive first campaign on Tesside, Morris was beaten to replicate that impact this season.
Cameron Carter vickers
On Sunday was another shutout victory for Cameron Carter vickers and Celtic.
Carter vickers went the distance when Celtic Aberdeen beat 2-0 at Pittodrie and moved the top of the SPFL table through two games. The American defender delivered his last Shutdown performance in the backline of Brendan Rodgers, completed 139 passes, won three duels and completed two tackles.
George Bello
Lask suffered a loss of competition on Sunday, but George Bello walked away with his first goal of the season.
Bello scored the only goal for Lask in his 3-1 defeat against WSG Tyrol and finished as one of the top performers of the club. The former Atlanta United Homegrown has been pressed the left -hand lane at Lask, a trend that he hopes will continue as the campaign goes ahead.
