Alyssa Healy’s burning 142 script Australian wonder hunt against Indian women

Australia captain Alyssa Healy produced one of the best innings in Women’s World Cup history, hitting 142 off just 107 balls to lead her side to a stunning three-wicket win over India in Visakhapatnam.

The Aussies chased down a record target of 331 with one to spare, keeping their unbeaten run in the 2025 World Cup alive.

Asked to bowl first, Australia had to work hard as India’s top order went into turmoil. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together a brilliant stand of 155 runs in less than 25 overs.

Mandhana’s flowing 80 off 66 and Rawal’s composed 75 off 96 gave India the perfect platform.

Later, Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh made quick cameos as India scored a massive 330 in 48.5 overs.

Annabel Sutherland stood out with the ball, taking 5 for 40, while Sophie Molineux bagged three wickets despite being taken for runs.

Healy chased a mountain and came out blazing. The Australian skipper punished every loose ball and hit 21 fours and three sixes in her breathtaking knock.

She added 85 runs with Phoebe Litchfield for the first wicket before continuing her attack with Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry.

Gardner made a valuable 45 off 46, while Perry’s steady 47* saw Australia cross the line in the final.

For India, Shree Charani (3/41) and Deepti Sharma (2/52) tried to keep the fight alive but Healy’s dominance proved too much to contain.
