Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on the South American market lately. The Red Devils want to turn around under Ruben Amorim after a few turbulent seasons.
One of the most significant changes INEOS has made since he took charge is the club’s approach to the transfer market, with a renewed focus on youth.
The Premier League giants are now on the lookout for emerging talents around the world as they look to inject more quality into their squad.
United signed Diego Leon this summer to provide extra cover at full-back, and now it appears they have set their sights on another South American talent.
There is no shortage of admirers
According to TransfersUnited are keeping a close eye on Palmeira’s attacking midfielder Allan. The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for the Brazilian club this season, recording two goals and seven assists in 48 appearances across various competitions.

Allan rose through the ranks at the Sao Paulo club before breaking into the first team this year. The youngster was so impressive that Palmeiras tied him down to a new contract until 2029 in June.
There is reportedly a €100 million release clause in his contract, complicating any potential move away from the Allianz Parque.
To make matters worse, United will also face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race for Allan’s signature. Both English clubs have been closely monitoring the player’s development and are reportedly willing to make a move.
The Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy, meanwhile, have been impressed by his technical ability, although they would prefer to wait until next summer before expressing their interest.
Palmeiras is preparing for a big step
Palmeiras is aware of the growing interest in their prized asset and is already preparing for a possible blockbuster exit.
Real Madrid already has contacts with the Brazilian club after taking over Endrick a few years ago. Meanwhile, Chelsea also signed Estevao from the Sao Paulo club last year and could make good use of their connections.
United could therefore be at a disadvantage in the race for Allan, although it would be unwise to rule them out now. The Red Devils are looking to make their presence felt in the South American market and have also been linked with Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon in recent weeks.
The Premier League giants are also hot on the heels of Vasco da Gama striker Rayan, with Allan appearing to be their next target. With Old Trafford already boasting a strong South American contingent, United could be an attractive destination for the youngster.
