– Fiat Chrysler has recalled more than 57,000 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles because the fuel pumps can fail.
The recall of the fuel pump includes Alfa Romeo Giulia 2017-2019 and 2018-2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles that can block if the fuel pumps fail while driving. And the vehicles cannot be restarted.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration contacted Chlieser in August 2023 with regard to low printing pump pump disturbances in Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles 2017-2018. The vehicles are equipped with four cylinder 2.0l and six cylinder 2.9l turbo engines.
In April 2024, an investigation was opened in Fuelpomp faults, but it was only in May 2025 that FCA engineers and the supplier finally replicated the error mode.
Chrysler was also eliminated by the end of August, five reported crashes and three injuries related to errors of the fuel pump. In addition, complaints of 437 fuel pump were submitted.
Almost 3,300 of the vehicles are recalled in Canada.
Alfa Romeo is still working on how the vehicles will be repaired, but interim fuel pump group letters will be sent at the end of October. The last recall letters are sent when dealers have the replacement parts.
Alfa Romeo owners can contact FCA on 800-853-1403 and refer to recall number 93c of the fuel pump.
