As it looks now, Alexander Isak will not play against Aston Villa in the Newcastle United opening match of the Premier League campaign 2025/26.
Still longing for his dream movement for Liverpool, the Swede has refused to train with the rest of the team, and of course missed the whole of the previous season in protest.
From his exciting debut in Anfield, to the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final, it is almost poetic that another determining moment of the Newcastle career of Alexander Isak would arise because of Liverpool.
But now things can get worse before they get better, because the club is preparing to finally punish the striker for the recent debacle. Is the transfer window to go with two more weeks that things will be resolved on time?
According to Craig Hope of the mail, Alexander Isak is indeed set to miss our trip to Villa Park and will then call a fine of the club to miss the huge fixture.
Hope confirms: “From last weekend he was not disciplined through a club.
This means that Isak has still collected his £ 140,000 a weekly wages for his whole of his self -imposed absence in the senior team.
But on August 16 we are officially in the competitive swing of things, and with Liverpool and Leeds that will come later this month, a few fines could still be set to get the way of Isak.
With the great fear that Isak has indeed made his last ball for the club, the gap between the player and the club has never been bigger.
Hope reports that the camp of Isak has told the striker to keep holding and insisting on the move to Merseyside, an action taken with great disappointment by those on Tyneside.
Those who are close to the situation see four possible scenarios: the most likely being that we gamble on Isak that return to the team on 1 September as soon as the transfer window is closed, where it would slowly be back in the team prior to our Champions League efforts.
Other considered ways are that the 25-year-old changes from Hart and signs a contract extension with a release clause or promise of a movement, or that we continue to work behind the scenes to introduce two new attackers and allowing Isak.
The worst scenario still remains that we sell Isak because of the Squad harmony without having prepared a replacement: even if our current attitude is that it is not for sale, and that an ‘unfortunate’ Isak is still better than any striker available on the market cannot be forgotten or forgiven.
