As we know, the match between Alexander Hernandez and Michael Johnson was canceled due to betting irregularities. This is an issue that the promotion has faced in the past, and looking ahead to the future, it certainly feels like something they will have to continue to address in order to eradicate any issues from the sport.

Hernandez has been on a rollercoaster his entire career, but when he’s at his best, he looks like someone who can go pretty far. Johnson has been around for a long time now and has competed against some of the very best the sport has to offer, including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.
In response to the incident, Hernandez released the following statement on Instagram.
Hernandez discusses the UFC 324 controversy
“I would never disgrace myself or this sport by not giving my all in the competition. I have been through a lot in my career to get to the promising position I am in. I don’t take that lightly. I don’t take my work or the work of others lightly.”
“It’s extremely disheartening to see a fight forfeited after a full camp and weight cut. Especially when it comes to things outside of my control. I understand the FBI is doing their job. I understand the UFC is doing their job.”
“I’m trying to get back to work as soon as possible. I hope this matter will be resolved quickly. I’m in the prime of my career. I don’t want my time to be stolen.”
