After first finding fame on TikTok, Alex Warren worked for years to be taken seriously as a singer-songwriter. Much of his fanbase followed him in his creative quest, but it wasn’t until his song ‘Ordinary’ hit the charts that his music career took off.
‘Ordinary’ became the biggest song in the world, dominating the charts around the world in 2025. Although the song itself has not been nominated for any Grammys, its success vaults Warren into the Best New Artist category. The blow largely subsides on many of the most important ones Billboard charts, but being number 1 on one competitive list, Warren has one of the most successful hits of all time and makes history.
“Ordinary” again tops the list of radio songs
“Normal” is stable at number 1 on the List of radio songs for a different framework. The count ranks the songs that generate the greatest number of total audience impressions across all radio stations in the United States.
Radio Songs is one of three rankings that help build the Hot 100, the list of the most consumed songs nationwide. The Hot 100 combines sales, streams and radio airplay to chronicle the biggest hits in America each week.
“Ordinary” reaches a milestone on the radio map
As of this writing, “Ordinary” has led the Radio Songs chart for 26 weeks – exactly six months. It is only the third number to reach that milestone in the count’s decades-long history.
While ‘Ordinary’ has spent 26 weeks at number one on the Radio Songs charts, Warren joins The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’. Both songs topped the Radio Songs chart for exactly half a year and are joint second on this all-time selection.

Only one song, Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, lasted longer on the Radio Songs chart. That cut, one of America’s most successful of all time, beat The Weeknd’s record, which was originally set in 2020, when it earned its twenty-seventh stay at the top last year.
Alex Warren’s only radio hit is a historic hit
Warren has had multiple hits on a number of Billboards most-watched charts, with several songs debuting on various lists after “Ordinary” turned him into a star. While he’s had a handful of successes on charts like the Hot 100, as well as the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts, he’s only scored one hit on the Radio Songs chart so far.
Alex Warren blocked Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift from number 1
Several superstars have been stopped from dominating the Radio Songs chart as ‘Ordinary’ refuses to budge. Currently, Olivia Dean’s breakout hit “Man I Need” soars to No. 2, its all-time high. Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ missed the mark by just one space, as did Justin Bieber’s ‘Daisies’. All three of these songs continue to take up space in the top 10 of the airplay chart.
“Regular” rules Multiple radio rankings
In addition to the Radio Songs chart, “Ordinary” also charts at No. 1 on both the Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Airplay selections, two of three pop radio songs published by Billboard every week. More than a month ago ‘Just’ passed Santana and Rob Thomas’ “Smooth” as the longest-running No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, and this time it becomes the first release to reach 30 weeks at the top spot.
“Ordinary” has led the Adult Contemporary roster for a dozen stints now, and could remain in the lead for several more, as the radio chart moves much more slowly than most. Billboard– published overviews.
