It’s safe to say that Alex Pereira is one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts right now – and perhaps in combat sports as a whole. Everyone is talking about the two-weight world champion, especially after his epic victory over Magomed Ankalaev in their recent rematch.

As for what’s next for Pereira, many fans and experts want to see him be part of the upcoming UFC White House card this summer. However, whether or not he is involved could entirely depend on what kind of opponent they can offer him, with Jon Jones rumored to be a possible foe in the future.
In a recent interview, Pereira said the following about the next chapter of his career and Jones’ arthritis claims.
Pereira looks ahead to his future
“I think every athlete has chronic injuries, serious injuries,” Pereira said in an interview with Valter Walker’s YouTube channel. “For a high-level athlete to say something like that, given the history he has, it’s not new to me.”
“Whoever they put in front of me, I will fight,” Pereira said. “I love fighting, so it doesn’t matter in weight classes. If you say middleweight, of course I can’t make it anymore. In the other two divisions, light heavyweight and heavyweight, [the opponent] I am indifferent.”
“I think everyone there, at least the ranked ones, has a chance [of winning] “They could get beat up at any moment,” Pereira said. “They beat each other up, so they’re the best. From number 10 onwards, every fighter you put in is dangerous. It’s a fight. There are plenty of people – maybe not relevant names, but I don’t care. If you are training and you are ranked and you want to fight, let’s fight.”
