Alan Shearer gives his answer:
“Yes, he is having a very difficult time. The most difficult time since he has been at Newcastle, but I just think it was a difficult situation in the summer with the Isak situation, and there was no sporting director. But there is no doubt that their summer signings, apart from Malick Thiaw, have not worked yet. They have spent an absolute fortune on four players and they are yet to come close to the heights they reached at other football clubs. And that is a huge problem for Eddie and for Newcastle. Until they fix that, so am I.” I’m not sure it will get better.”
