NHL teams have packed their prospects tournaments, a perfect warming because all 32 clubs are opening their most important training camps this week.
AHL Talent was very common in tournaments that stretched from Florida to California, while young prospects for organizational positioning are trying to make the impression for an NHL job next month or after.
Here is a summary of this last weekend.
Anaheim Ducks (San Diego -Meeuwen)
Goalkeeper Tomas Suchanek Saw his first competitive game promotion since April 2024 and played two periods of Anaheim’s meeting with Los Angeles on Sunday. The prospect of Ducks missed the entire season 2024-25 with a torn ACL that he suffered more than a year ago in training outside the season.
Anaheim organized the Golden State Rookie Faceoff against both the kings and San Jose Sharks.
Carolina Hurricanes (Chicago Wolves)
Bradly NadeauThe 32 goals last season with The Wolves led all AHL-smokies, and he quickly resumed his scoring touch in a four-team tournament that also contained the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Nadeau, a member of the AHL All-smokie team and the AHL Top Prospects team, took a goal and a shootout count against the Panthers on Friday in Wesley Chapel, Fla., And gave another goal against the Predators on Saturday. In the first round of the NHL design of 2023 by Carolina, Nadeau represented part of a wolves contingent for Carolina that included attacker Justin Robidas (a draw against Florida) and Felix Unger Sorum Together with goalkeeper Ruslan Khazheyev.
Colorado Avalanche (Colorado Eagles)
Like such an Ananek, defender Sean Behrens Is back in action after missing last season with a knee injury. The 22-year-old defender became Pro with the Eagles in the 2023-24 campaign after three seasons at the University of Denver after he went to the avalanche in the second round of the NHL design of 2021.
Behrens recorded a goal when Colorado defeated Utah 5-3 on Friday. The three-team tournament also included the Vegas Golden Knights.
Behrens Back is especially crucial for the avalanche organization, given those defenders Jacob Macdonald Miss five to six months after hip surgery earlier this month.
Columbus Blue Jackets (Cleveland Monsters)
Ahead Luca Pinelli Captain De Blue Jackets in a tournament organized by the Buffalo Sabres. Participating in Buffalo and Columbus were the Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins
Pinelli, an addition to the late season to the Cleveland schedule last spring to have served as a captain for the Ottawa 67 of the Ontario Hockey League, provided a goal and three assists to help Columbus to a 7-5 victory against Buffalo on Saturday. The 20-year-old last season joined the monsters after recording 71 points (37 goals, 34 assists) in 52 games for Ottawa and played three games in the regular season for Cleveland. He then added four points (two goals, two assists) in Six Calder Cup Playoff games. Columbus selected him in the fourth round of the NHL design of 2023.
Montreal Canadiens (Laval Rocket)
Fans of Montreal received an up-close look at a part of their top young talent in Bell Center, while the Habs organized a tournament with the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets.
Goalkeeper Jacob FowlerAn important part of Laval’s Run to the Eastern Conference Finals last spring, started and played half a game against the Jets on Saturday. Fowler, 20, completed two seasons at Boston University, where he won the Mike Richter Award last season as the best goalkeeper of College Hockey. He then became Pro and took control of the laval just for part of the late season. In the end he played eight games and went 3-3 with a 2.48 goals against average, .902 savings percentage and one shutout.
Oliver KapanenAnother important addition to Laval’s late season had a goal and two assists in Saturday’s game. The 22-year-old attacker, a second round pick from 2021, had six points (three goals, three assists) in 11 Playoff matches for the Rocket.
Philadelphia Flyers (Lehigh Valley Phantoms)
The flyers organized the New York Rangers in PPL Center, Home Ice for the Phantoms and received a lot of help from known Lehigh Valley talent in splitting a few games.
Ahead Nikita GrebenkinThe overtime goal gave the flyers a 4-3 victory on Friday. He then had two assists the next day. Grebenkin divided last season between the Toronto Marlies and Lehigh Valley, who came to the Philadelphia organization in an exchange March 7. He ended with 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) in 50 AHL matches and also made seven performances with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
