The paultan.org Auto Auto Expo (ACE) will take place again this month at the Setia City Convention Center (SCCC). One of the big names that will grace the last edition of the expo BYDwhich will present at ACE 2025 part of its product range currently on sale on the market. Among them are the Sea lion 7 and the recently launched Seal 6with generous savings if you purchase during the event.
Starting with the Sealion 7, the electric SUV is available savings up to RM20,000and with that you, the buyer, get a single-motor or twin-motor EV as a Premium or Performance variant respectively. The Premium features a 313 hp/380 Nm engine driving the rear wheels to propel the Sealion 7 from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the Performance’s 523 hp/690 Nm combination ensures the sprint can be completed in 4.5 seconds.
Both the Premium and Performance variants get the 82.56 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which offers a range of 567 km on the NEDC test cycle, while the Performance achieves a range of 542 km (NEDC). For convenience, DC fast charging charges the Sealion 7 from 10-80% in 32 minutes.
There’s plenty of technology in the Sealion 7: a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 50-inch AR head-up display provide the visuals, while a four-zone intelligent voice interaction system ensures voice commands can be received from all corners of the passenger cabin.
Also included are dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, a 50-watt wireless mobile charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and four USB ports (two front, two rear, one Type-A and one Type-C each).
In addition to the Sealion 7, there is the new player in the field, the Seal 6, also offered in two variants, Dynamic and Premium. The Dynamic features a 129 hp/220 Nm powertrain, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and reach a maximum of 160 km/h, while the Premium gets a 218 hp/330 Nm engine that delivers a century sprint in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
A 56.64 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivers the same 410 km range for both variants under the WLTP testing standard, and can be charged up to 100 kW DC for 23 minutes of 30-80% charging, while AC charging is offered up to 6.6 kW, with V2L functionality up to 3.7 kW.
