Printing blog posts right and left takes time. Lots of time! Images must be edited, texts written and adapted, thoughts marinated and then all credit must be published. Some headlines have been among my drafts for almost a decade (and that’s not even a joke). It is certainly no coincidence that my word of the year for 2026 is structure. I should get better at structuring the blog and certainly the rest of my life. Don’t take things on a whim, actually have a clear plan for things. The question is where do I even start? After going through the headings of my blog concepts, I think I see at least a common thread about how I want to run my blog, travel and therefore life in general. I don’t really like the concept of “value words”, but ultimately it’s probably these five pillars that I’ll have as companions for a while in the future (besides the word of the year which is about structure).
About the blogging process and concepts
#1. To live a little more instead of just surviving
A while ago my sister and I had a discussion about everyday life. It had probably been a rather cold, long and intense event. We both said we wanted more of the motto ‘Live a little more instead of just surviving’.
Some days things go well, other days not so well. Life certainly doesn’t have to be perfect and star-studded every day, but I would much rather LIVE this life than survive it.
#2. Introduce the five second rule into my life
Right now I’m trudging through the book “The Let Them Theory” by Mel Robbins. It’s okay, but I was more hooked by the introduction to the book, where she describes her previous book, “Five Second-rule.” That last line is basically about counting down 5-4-3-2-1 and then just doing what you think you need to do now. Pay a bill, send an email, put on your running shoes. Frankly, the theory is largely a rewrite of the nursery rhyme “One, two, three – on the fourth it will happen…” – but everything sounds a little better in English. The author in question apparently became both rich and famous when she started living her life more that way. Is it even POSSIBLE to stop procrastinating? Let me see if 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…
#3. Do I want to be a producer or consumer?
This question often comes up when I’m scrolling on my phone to make a new Instagram post. In 9 out of 10 cases, that moment ends with x number of wasted scrolling minutes that I never get again and therefore ZERO messages from me. Do I want it this way? Scrolling is fine, but lets me choose when, where and how, rather than being owned by the algorithms.
#4. Harrow on
Harva on has really become a kind of motto for me. It may look a bit boring at first, but realize that I like it. I keep shuddering!
#5. No one can take my memories from me

My brother-in-law Stefan has the ability to produce both lyrics and music that will stick around forever. Catch the moon And Paradise is everywhere all credit, but I really like his recent historical records (especially record no. 90 Kleist). When life is at its darkest and about to pass away, what do we have more than memories? Nothing.
but you all the thoughts I think and the feelings I feel
and you can never take away the moments I enjoy
and when the sun is in your sky, you hear birds singing in the wind
yes, then I live on memories that you can never take away from me – “Live on memories”, Stefan Andersson
And with this reminder I wish you a pleasant weekend!
