Abhishek Sharma is perhaps the name on the lips of every fan after his record -breaking Asia Cup, but not long ago he had trouble left his mark in international cricket.
The left -handed, who scored 314 points in the tournament and was named player of the series, admitted that the faith of his captain Suryakumar Yadav to reverse things.
Abhishek spoke with champions at breakfast, remembered how Suryakumar supported him despite a bad start in his early competitions.
“When I was selected in the Indian team, I got out early in 3-4 innings in the series against Bangladesh. He told me:” You are such an important player for me that even if you play for 15 ducks, you still play the next game. I can give it to write, “I said A Abishek?”
For the young person, those words have changed everything. “It was so important that the captain said this. One thing became clear, if I wanted to do it right and make a name for myself, I have to do something else.”
Abhishek revealed that he previously tried to stop his natural attacking game. But after the insurance of Suryakumar, he decided to support his instincts.
“I felt that I stopped myself because of the pressure to play long. I removed that by heart. Even if I lose my wicket early, I will support myself the entire season.”
That mentality has done miracles. The 25-year-old consistently hit the Asia Cup, scored more than 30 in six games and only missed in the final against Pakistan.
