4 August-Abdoulaye Fall will succeed the old Augustin Senghor as the president of the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF) after tumultuous elections that include suspension of procedures and police intervention.

With his program ‘Control Pass’, Fall won a large majority in the first round (301 votes) against Mady Touré (116), but was too short of the two -thirds majority to win the presidency in the first round. With only 92 votes, Senghor withdrew from the second voting round, denouncing questionable election practices.

On social media, photos showed how the elections in chaos fell with the intervention of the local police. Fall won the second round of the elections with 321 votes against 30 for Mady Touré, with more than 100 of the eligible voters who abstain in the second mood.

At the age of 56, autumn has long been a member of the FSF executive committee. He is also chairman of the local club Bambey FC, who plays in the second layer of Senegal. His election ends the long -term regime of Senghor who came to power in 2009.

Fall said: “Let’s build a stronger, fairer and more ambitious football around ‘Pass Control’.”

Fall’s opponent Touré has accused him of corruption and called on the courts to intervene. “In 2013 and 2021 I was a candidate, but nobody listened to me,” he told the local media. “What happened today is corruption. I saw it, and my team too. There is corruption in the camp of Abdoulaye Fall, and I will not continue the elections.”

“What happened today is a shame for our country and brings Senegal no honor. The elections ended as it started.”

“Justice must be ruled and the state must take on all its responsibilities,” he added.
