Yesterday I became a member of Jess McGuire on ABCs Statewide Drive To talk about the tree of artificial intelligence (AI) and what it means for investors. Although AI can transform industry and benefit consumers, I have warned that the hurry to AI shares has pushed valuations to bubble-like levels, whereby the prices assume that every company will succeed that history tells us is impossible. High valuations generally mean lower future returns, and currently US shares have record -high prices. For investors, in particular those who go after retirement, my advice was simple: regular inn sport folios by returning the exposure to overheated assets and re-counting on alternatives such as private credit, funds for small companies or cash in place of panic sale-to still remain defensive while they are still being used to the long term.
