Aaron Rodgers reaches career heights in conservative statistics while Steelers lean on run, defense

The Pittsburgh Steelers made their long -awaited “homecoming” to Ireland to remember, The Minnesota Vikings 24–21 are in Dublin.

In a game steeped in symbolism and heritage, the team leaned in the cultural identity and played exactly the kind of football that the franchise has defined for decades. De Steelers, owned by the Rooney family – whose Irish roots back to County Down – delivered a version that Art Rooney Sr. would have made proud: physical and efficient.

Defense and the ground game

The Run game led offensively and ended with a 0.17 EPA each, a 93rd percent Mark between the games this season. Pittsburgh hurried for 131 yards with 4.5 yards per carry, including 1.3 yards for contact and 3.2 yards after contact. The team tore four explosive runs of more than 10 meters, a total of 51 yards on those plays and forced six missed tackles on 29 attempts.

Kenneth Gainwell took care of the effort, hurried for 100 yards on 19 Carry’s (5.3 per attempt), scored twice and moved the chains six times. He forced the six missed tackles on the day and earned an 80.8 pff figure in the first assessment.

The stalkers were firmly defensively. They kept the Vikings up to 5.2 yards per game and an EPA per game -0.009 per game. The unit achieved two take -away restaurants and seven tackles for loss. The biggest moment came in the last minute, when the defense of Pittsburgh was firm to stop the Minnesota comeback drive, forcing a turnover on Downs just outside the field of the field.

Rodgers’ role? Limited

Hidden under the Run game dominance and defensive highlights is another growing storyline: the Steelers win Despite Little needed from Quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers earned a 64.6 passing degree at first review – solid, but not close to his peak game. He only made one big throw and logged a turnover -worthy game on a mess.

More revealing is how little Pittsburgh asks him to do. Rodgers was on average only 2.16 seconds to throw-fifth fastest single game Mark of his career and so far this season so far under all the quarterbacks.

Its average depth of field? Only 3.7 meters on the second lowest number of his entire career in the PFF era.

Aaron Rodgers: From Snap to Pass

Rodgers threw only three passes from more than 10 meters and completed two for 97 yards and a score. Of his 22 attempts, 81.8% were thrown in the sticks and 86.4% were thrown under 10 meters – a new career high.

He did not try any deep pass (20-plus air yards)-all the fifth time in 264 qualifying games where he did not do this.

On the way to the Lei of Week 4 of Games, Rodgers is sixth in Passer -Rating (102.6), but goes to the latest PFF assessment cycle with a 53.6 passing figure -on pace for a career low. He has so far registered only three large throws and so far he has six turnover plays, all while performing a very conservative, low risk that holds him upright and the chains move.

What it means

The Steelers are 3-1. They win. The Run game is efficient. The defense plays well. Rodgers now manages the attack, but does not lead it.

And maybe that’s enough for now. But if Pittsburgh hopes to fight in January, the team may need the old Rodgers at some point to appear.
