The Denver Nuggets received an unfortunate update Friday night in Milwaukee when Aaron Gordon re-aggravated his right hamstring and was ruled out for the second half, the team announced on social media.
The setback came as Gordon played both sides of a back-to-back for the second time since initially straining the hamstring in November, an injury that sidelined him for six weeks.
“I feel good. Better than I’ve felt in a long time,” the player said after Thursday’s win at Washington, according to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post.
Despite that optimism, Gordon appeared to readjust the hamstring in the final minute of the second quarter, as evidenced by the video shared by DNVR Sports.
He finished the night with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 16 minutes before being subbed out.
Gordon was one of the few regulars available for Denver as several other key players were left out of Friday’s game.
Jamal Murray was sidelined with right hamstring and left hip inflammation, Peyton Watson missed the game with ankle sprains in both legs, and Jonas Valanciunas was left out after returning Thursday from a right calf strain that cost him just over three weeks.
