Aaron Anselmino completes his move to Strasbourg

Chelsea have now confirmed late on deadline day that defender Aaron Anselmino will be loaned out to Ligue 1 club Strasbourg for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill are both currently unavailable due to injuries, leaving only Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile with options at centre-back.

The 20-year-old, whose only appearance for his parent club since joining from Boca Juniors two years ago was last summer’s Club World Cup, joined Dortmund this summer and has made a positive impact in his 10 appearances.

But despite not wanting to return to Chelsea at this stage of the season, the Blues ultimately made the decision to cancel the loan from Dortmund and bring him back to help alleviate the problems in the backline.

However, he was not back at the club for long CHELSEA have now decided that another move to Strasbourg, France would do him a lot of good, the Blues wrote on the club website: ‘Anselmino spent the first half of the season with Borussia Dortmund, making ten appearances in all competitions before being recalled from the Bundesliga. He will now continue his development in the French top flight.

Anselmino joined from Boca Juniors in August 2024, spent the second half of the 2024/25 season at Chelsea and was part of our victorious Club World Cup squad last summer.

“We look forward to supporting Aaron during his loan spell.

“Good luck, Aaron!”

IcFootballnews says….

The boy is really enjoying his time in the Bundesliga, he didn’t want to leave and hopefully he won’t go back to CHELSEA and sitting on the bench or playing in the reserves, he has to play regularly.

He didn’t want to return to Chelsea, he wanted to stay at Dortmund, so the fact that he is now back on loan doesn’t really make sense as the boy was very happy in the Bundesliga.

But he should get some very good minutes in Strasbourg, that’s for sure.
