It’s Tuesday December 9th and I’m on my way. Soon, very soon, I’m looking forward to a slower pace. Perhaps exactly the pace that the whole world expects in the coming weeks!? Sadly, the desire to blog seems to have waned as well, but here are some thoughts here and now.
- CHRISTMAS! How lucky we are to have it.
- THIS YEAR’S CHRISTMAS CALENDAR. Of course it is The time thief Okay, but the greatest of all time isn’t. My kids still hold Miracle much higher (and even look next to it). What do you think? by?
- INSTA TIRED MAN! We’ve been hearing about it for years, but it’s definitely more tiring than usual (and generally lower engagement!?) Everyone is tired of everyone being tired. People simply can’t search the ‘normal’ updates from friends with a bunch of ads, random follow suggestions, and AI clips. Sometimes I think about logging out for good.
- THE BLOG IS OR NOT. Now that people are getting tired of Insta, I think I’m feeling a bit of a resurgence for the blog. Or at least the written format with longer texts. Several “celebrities” now reference their Substacks (including Sofi Fahrman), while others have returned to a more frequent blogging frequency after x number of years in fallow (e.g. Trendsenser-Frida). Personally, I had to experience a kind of total release after a major technical blog glitch last week – which led to both heart palpitations and a maximum heart rate. Was eventually saved by an expert, but it took a lot of time, energy and money.
- BLACK FRIDAY. I think this day has kind of replaced our old Christmas sale? This year I mainly bought make-up and skin care, but also the occasional Christmas present. However, I don’t like the idea of buying all my Christmas presents online. I would like to see more purchases in local stores. Without them, our living city centers will disappear, that’s just the way it is.
- CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. This weekend was our time for one of the biggest padel events of the year – a bit like our version of Christmas Eve. It’s being repaired and donated everywhere with everything from kiosk purchases to game schedules. Sports listen, how fantastic it is to see so many different personalities and ages meeting in one and the same arena!
- TRAVEL BOOKINGS. Besides the upcoming stay in Thailand, even my desire to travel is on the back burner. I’m considering a longer detour due to a planned trip to Scotland this spring, but otherwise my thoughts revolve around Christmas baking, sleepovers and family time. What I really want to do is just sit in front of the fire and read a good book.
Yes, that’s my thoughts on this dark Tuesday afternoon in December.
