The Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe gets a new Mercedes-AMG high-performance variant that is more powerful than the Mercedes-AMG CLE53 model. The name has yet to be announced, but Mercedes-AMG has already posted images of a prototype of the model being tested in cold weather.
According to Mercedes-AMG, this version is an “extremely new model” and comes second in the performance brand’s Mythos series, after the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed two-seater model. Which engine will be filled has not been officially stated, but according to reports CoachThis model gets a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine in crankshaft version flat plane new.
The engine has previously been used for the AMG GT Black Series model, and the engine’s application to the Mercedes-AMG CLE could lead to a new generation Black Series model.

The prototype looks much more aggressive than the Mercedes-AMG CLE53, has a wider body so the front and rear wheel tracks are also wider, and comes with an oversized GT wing at the rear.
It’s also paired with a set of larger, wider wheels and Mercedes-AMG’s carbon-ceramic braking system, with a tuned suspension that gives the car a lower body. The body of this prototype is still covered in camouflage stickers and the production model is expected to feature more carbon fiber components than the CLE53.
Coach also stated that the V8 engine will produce 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque, much more powerful than the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine tuned to produce 449 hp and 600 Nm of peak torque on the existing CLE53.

Last February, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would continue to offer V8 engines, although at one point the brand had paired a 2.0-liter inline-four engine with a hybrid system on the Mercedes-AMG C63 model as a transition to full EV.
For the V8 engines, this is also linked to an electrification system at various levels. While there are select markets, the V12 engine will still be available.
