The Ashley Gamester trainee finished sixth in the compact Preferred 1 field in race 15 as Phil My Beer (Marc Campbell) guarded the pylons and cut splits of 27.3, 57.2 and 1:27.1 with Wind Blown (driven by Corey MacPherson) in the pocket. Driver Jason Hughes put Bee Two Bee ($3.50) over second at three-quarters and then three wide beyond cover and the Sunshine Beach horse did the rest, roaring home in 28 seconds to win by a length in 1:55.4 from Wind Blown and Phil My Beer.
Bee Two Bee is owned by Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge and Blair MacLauchlan of Charlottetown. The Joe & Steven MacRae Memorial Fall Series featured a three-way split in the second leg, kicked off by Bold N Bad ($52.90) lighting up the toteboard in the first $4,000 division in Race 2. Windsong Quincy (Marc Campbell) was first under the wire but was placed fifth due to interference on the way to the eighth pole, lifting Bold N Bad to victory.
Brett Clow arranged the trip for owner-trainer Deanna Clow of New Haven, with Bugtown Nash (Rob Chappell) and Century Invictus (Norris Rogers) moving up to second and third in the modified order.
Spack Jarrow ($6.20) rolled into the first of the $4,500 splits in race 4. The veteran pacer followed pacer Marleys Boy (Campbell) through splits of 28, 58 and 1:29.1 before pulling past in the lane to score in 1:58.3 ahead of driver Jason Hughes and trainer Raymond White. Mike Slana from Belfast owns and bred the Ameripan Gigolo gelding with Marleys Boy second and Power Of Four (Ryan Desroche) third.
Rosiesmightymoe ($8.00) delivered in the other $4,500 division in Race 6 when Gilles Barrieau steered him to victory in 1:58.3 in a tight three-horse finish over Five Star Dragon (Adam Merner) and Im Hungry (Paul Langille). Rosiesmightymoe is co-owned and trained by Melvin Gamester for co-owner Heather Gamester from North Wiltshire.
Hughes also won with Woodmere Ideal Art ($7.40) in 1:58 for trainer Sifroi Melanson in race 5 before a triple from the Stratford driver. Driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle teamed up for a pair of victories with Woodmere Sinatra ($4.40) in race 9 in 1:56.4 and High Praise ($4.80) for his third straight win, this time in 1:56.2.
Adam Merner also recorded a training and driving double with Sports Teller ($5.10) capturing race 12 in 1:57 and Merigo Magic ($2.10) sprinting home in 1:58 in race 13. Racing continues Tuesday night at 6pm at Red Shores Charlottetown with a full schedule available on Redshores.ca.
