The powerful depth of the Philadelphia 76ers remains doubtful on the way to the 2025-26 season. However, Philadelphia’s matchup against the New York Knicks did some clarity.

Dominick Barlow, Jabari Walker and Johni Broome had respectable impressions in Philadelphia’s (0-2) 112-104 Loss for New York (2-0) In Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon. The trio must build on this, because the 76 people return to the Orlando Magic (1-0) on October 10 at 7 p.m. Est.

Bball Barlow

Barlow received his second start at Power Forward of the preseason and for a good reason. He placed six points at 2-6 shooting from the field and two rebounds. However, the box score does not fully measure its impact.

Barlow was the most effective as a help-side defender. He consistently knew where to rotate and his height disturbed the New York attack process on the edge. Barlow also shot 1-3 from outside the bow, which will not surprise fans, but he showed a glimpse of spot-up shooting.

Philadelphia would get into trouble if Barlow would remain a starter in the regular season. But he has shown enough flashes to get fans intrigued with his development on the way to the new year.

Walk on a dream

Many were intrigue by the 76ers adding Walker because of the front distance he would offer. Instead, the 23-year-old showed a different skill that not all knew he had.

Walker was successful by attacking closeouts of the catch. His reputation as a shooter encouraged defenders to guard him firmly, allowing Walker to drive to the basket. He even attracted a help defender to make an easy basket for Andre Drummond.

Walker finished with 10 points at 3-5 shooting from the field, two rebounds, two assists and two shares (steals and blocks).

Go out the Broome

While Johni Broome mainly played back -up five, he is still considered an attacker/center. The Auburn product produced six points at 3-3 shooting from the field, four rebounds and one block.

Broome said during Media Day on 26 September that he monitored Joel Embiid during an unofficial practice and the experience seemed to be bearing fruit. Broome took on the task of defending Karl-Anthony cities and kept his.

Cities ended with six points on 1-4 shooting from the field. Although Broome was not responsible for all the struggles of cities, he certainly played a role. Broome had a solid positioning and defended cities of the point-of-attack.

It is still to be seen whether Broome mainly plays in Power Forward or Center. Anyway, he and the others continue to stimulate their stock within the insignificant context of the preseason.
