7 personal hotel tips in Stockholm city/Norrmalm
#1. Downtown camper from Scandic

The feeling in the lobby of Downtown Camper is reminiscent of a cozy natural oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. The feeling of ‘luxury glamping’ runs like a common thread from the lobby and meeting rooms to the hotel rooms. It threatens to be too much of a good thing when the interior design includes kayaks on the roof, but the fact is that it feels both natural and authentic. On the top floor is “The Nest”, a spa whose theme follows the outdoor-oriented hotel interior in general. There are many reasons to like this hotel. The only downside is that breakfast is unfortunately no longer included in the price. Read my hotel review here: Downtown Camper from Scandic: a hotel review.

#2. At six

The sterile facade of this modern design hotel on Brunkebergstorg (almost opposite Scandic’s Downtown Camper) is honestly nothing to shout about, but the inside is all the nicer. At the stairs on the entrance level is the characteristic silhouette of a woman’s head in marble by the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa. The hotel rooms are furnished with luxurious beds from Hilding Anders and bedding of the highest quality. The hotel breakfast? Oh, it’s really good, one of the best in Stockholm, but the price for it is unfortunately included not standard. Read my hotel review here: At Six – review of five star hotel in Stockholm

#3. Lydmar Hotel

Lydmar Hotel basically has everything I’m looking for when I’m looking for a hotel stay that stands out from the crowd. This boutique hotel is located in a particularly beautiful and unique building, the rooms are individually decorated, the atmosphere is welcoming and the hotel breakfast (which is included!) is luxurious. The icing on the cake is a view towards Nybroviken and the Royal Castle. This is definitely a hotel to return to. #4. Hotel diplomat

Also Hotel Diplomat has a beautiful Art Nouveau facade – which over the years has become one of StrandvƤgen’s celebrities. The interior is also special, with elegant spiral staircases, a popular restaurant and simply furnished rooms and suites. Hotel breakfast (that is Real good!) is unfortunately not included as standard in the room rate, look for special offers instead. #5. We are at Hotel Stockholm

Nobis Hotel Stockholm seems to have become a celebrity favorite. No wonder, of course, that the hotel’s stamp as a five-star hotel with a little extra luxury and flair is just that little bit extra attractive! Lockar also makes Guldbaren / Gold Bar, the famous cocktail bar with a ceiling and walls covered in mirrors in the Nobis Hotel. The hotel rooms are pleasant, the beds comfortable and the location near Norrmalmstorg is super central. Read my hotel review here: Nobis Hotel and a day in Stockholm

#6. Sheraton Stockholm Hotel

The Sheraton Stockholm Hotel is a returning favorite with international guests. Since my last visits, the hotel has undergone a massive renovation, an investment estimated at over SEK 400 million. All hotel rooms and suites have been given a makeover, and work is now underway on the rest of the hotel’s common areas, which will be completely ready soon. Looking forward to another visit soon! The location opposite Stockholm Central Station is undeniably a major advantage. Read my previous hotel review here: Staycation at Sheraton in Stockholm

#7. Grand Hotel Stockholm

Last, but certainly not least, we have the giant of giants. Hotel of hotels. The Grand HĆ“tel Stockholm has maintained its own doormen and stardom since 1874 (have you read the feel-good novel “De fenomenala fruntimren pĆ„ Grand HĆ“tel”?). If you’re willing to pay a pretty penny for your hotel stay, presumably a memorable one, I think the Grand HĆ“tel is an option to consider. I only went here for Afternoon Tea, which was an experience in itself. Read more here: Classic Afternoon Tea in Stockholm at the Grand Hotel
