Seven people were arrested in connection with a burglary in May in a family business Glendale Jewelry Store, where a hole was cut in the roof of the company and millions of dollars were stolen in merchandise.

The burglary of 27 May in Bidrussian Jewelry Store, who has been working in Glendale for more than 40 years, was reported at about 1 hour in the 1100 block of South Glendale Avenue, the police said. The burglars came in through the roof and then used burner to tear open four safes and clean the content.

Working with other law enforcement agencies, the Glendale police identified various people who were suspected in the burglary and launched a surveillance operation. The department received information that suggested that the same group was a robbery of Rodeo Jewelers in the San Gabriel Valley community of La Verne on Sunday.

“While the suspects tried to get access through the roof, coordinated law enforcement officers to take the group in custody,” said the Glendale police in a rack. “The suspects also used signal jammers and cut threads to the location during the incident.”

The suspects were identified as aliens who may be involved in similar crimes in the United States and other countries, the police said on Tuesday in a press release in which the arrests were announced.

Legal enforcement is investigating whether there are connections with various recent burglaries in the jewelers in South California. Eric Leonard reports for NBC4 at 6 pm on 29 May 2025.

The jewelry industry in Glendale was founded 45 years ago by the parents of Manail Bidrussian and was passed on by generations of family members. He called the crime highly organized, calculated and professional. The thieves cut through the roof and used torch pistols to melt through reinforced safes, causing millions of dollars to take on the inventory of the store, the family said.

Ammunition was kept in one of the vaults, said Bidrussian. He estimated that the crime took hours, given the time needed to cut several safes.

Bidrussian said his alarm did not go off during the burglary.

The thieves left a small gold chain with a child tied in prayer.

The crime followed another robbery of the jewelers in a company in Simi Valley on Sunday, about 50 miles northwest of Glendale in Ventura County. A burglar was seen on the video video that crawl on the floor in the Candy & Coffee of Dr. Conkey before he reached the security camera and spraying to block the view in the candy store.

After cleaning up the safe, the burglar cut into the wall to access 5 -star jewelry. The owner estimated the loss on more than $ 2 million.
